| In February 1997, Mike established Dove Training, in Harrogate. His first contracts took him to Sheffield and London. Although able to train products to advanced level, Mike's forte is in training the newer computer user. Mike says, "There is nothing quite like the feeling one gets when you have successfully taken a complete novice through to being able to use the equipment competently". | |
| He has been married for twenty six years to Shelagh, who describes herself as Interior Decorator and Home Maker. Shelagh's thriving interior decorating business has been established for twelve years. They have one son who sells air time for a local Radio Station. | |
| Mike was for many the Press and Publicity Officer for Starbeck Centenary Swimming Club, whose three hundred members participate in regular swimming lessons but are able to enjoy excursions to partake in swimming galas plus fun events and trips. Mike was for five years the Chairman of Harrogate and District Neighbourhood Watch Committee. Mike is also involved with a number of other charities and organisations. | |
| When not training Mike is usually to be found messing around with his home computer network or on the Net. He also enjoys travelling both for holiday and work, enjoys meeting new people and observing new cultures. Mike also likes the cinema and theatre, and is also often to be found hunting around the shops for neck ties with a computer theme, which have become his trade mark in the classroom. | |
